Gene’s music is a blend of influences, rooted in the American tradition, drawing from classic soul and funk, to contemporary pop and electronica.
Gene’s vocals and guitar power the live shows of Dr. Spaceman, Portland’s David Bowie tribute, and The Walkaways, Portland’s Phish-covers-cover band.
In addition to singing and guitar-ing, Gene regularly posts up as DJ Gene Machine, playing a mix of classic hip hop, funk, and soul.
